He is doing the smart thing. 27 is far from "has been" and by taking time out to get his mind and body right for a serious challenge, he is likey prolonging his career. The "pressure from sponsors" is alway going to come when you have injuries that are perceived to be the kind that you can ride through. Anyone that has had a nagging injury knows that not being able to perform at your best leaves you frustrated as all hell. Best to step back and get healthy. Healthy riders have a shot at the podium. And that always keeps the sponsors happy. Hope you get sorted and come out all guns blazing Stampy. ;)
